Coaching and Teaching Career
After concluding his playing career, Tony seamlessly transitioned into coaching, bringing his on-field experience and leadership skills to the next generation of players. He currently serves as the Head Varsity Baseball Coach and Health & Physical Education Teacher at Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy (BASA) in Winder, Georgia. Since taking on this role, Tony has been instrumental in developing the school's baseball program, emphasizing not only athletic excellence but also personal growth and academic achievement.

Tony's coaching philosophy centers on the belief that the lessons learned on the baseball field—discipline, teamwork, resilience—translate directly to life beyond the game. He is dedicated to mentoring his players, instilling in them the values of hard work, integrity, and perseverance.
Personal Life
Outside of coaching, Tony is a devoted family man who enjoys spending quality time with his loved ones. His hobbies include working out, watching sports, playing pickleball, and exploring nature through hiking. A man of faith, Tony continually seeks to grow his relationship with the Lord and incorporates his values into his coaching and daily life.

He is committed to building a team that not only excels on the field but also makes a positive impact in the community. With his extensive background as a player and coach, Tony Matos is poised to guide the Wild Things to new heights and establish a legacy of excellence.
